SNP councillor for Peterhead North & Rattray Fiona McRae has welcomed the intention to introduce a 30MPH speed limit in Crimond.
Speed restrictions have been backed by local people in Crimond for some time.
Commenting, Cllr Fiona McRae said:“I’m delighted for the local community who have campaigned for road safety measures on the A90 within the village for years.
“This is very good news indeed and will make a huge difference within the village.”
Fellow SNP Cllr Anne Allan added: “This is excellent news for the local community.
“The electronic speed signs have helped improve road safety in recent years, but with the increase in traffic volumes this latest move to reduce the speed limit is very welcome indeed.”
