Fire in Rosehearty yesterday afternoon

A man was taken to hospital yesterday afternoon following a house fire at a home in Rosehearty.

Three fire trucks were called to the scene on Dundarg Road at around ten past three on Thursday afternoon.

Two fire trucks from Fraserburgh and one from Maud tackled the blaze in the downstairs area of the house.

A spokesperson for Scottish Fire and Rescue said: “The fire crew were confronted by a blaze on the ground and the first floor was heavily smoke logged.

“A four strong team of firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the premises and knocked down the fire.”

A male was taken to hospital by the ambulance following the blaze as fire crews carried on tackling the blaze until 7:35 pm last night.

The Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: “Fire can strike anywhere and if it does then early warning is crucial to prevent tragedy.

“We want to hear from anyone who thinks they or someone they know, particularly vulnerable members of the community could use our support to stay safe.”

The spokesperson added that crews were available to provide home safety checks and even fir free smoke alarms if needed.
