A woman has been killed and two others injured in a road traffic collision two miles south of Fraserburgh on Christmas Eve.
The accident happened at approximately 3.05pm on Tuesday, December 24, between Rathen and Fraserburgh.
One female died as a result of the accident, while two others were conveyed to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
Police have formally identified the woman killed in the two-vehicle collision as 76-year-old Mary Whyte from the Aberdeen area.
The collision involved a silver Renault Clio and a bronze Mercedes 4x4.
