EIGHT volunteers from Sandhaven, Pitullie and the Broch are delighted that the Sandhaven Meal Mill and Maritime Museum has re-opened after suffering from burst pipes earlier in the year.
The burst pipes flooded the downstairs display area, filling a barrel with water.
Volunteer Michael MacDonnell explained: “The burst pipes threatened to damage the irreplacable photographic displays that give an insight into Sandhaven and Pitullie in years gone by.
“However, thankfully none were actually damaged due to laminating the photographs before putting them up.”
The Meal Mill, run in conjunction with Buchan Heritage Society and Aberdeenshire Council, is open on a Saturday and Sunday from 2pm until 4pm.
Mr MacDonnell added “We are happy to show people around the Meal Mill out of hours, if there is nobody here then people can call the number on the sign and a guide will come down and open up.”
