Community wardens are to be reintroduced in Fraserburgh, a meeting of the town’s Community Council has been told.
As well as community councillors, the recent meeting was attended by councillors Charles Buchan, Ian Tait and Brian Topping as well as Banff and Buchan Area Manager Margaret-Jane Cardno.
Ms Cardno told the meeting that community wardens are to be reintroduced in Fraserburgh, which was widely welcomed by members.
The Area Manager said that two full-time equivalent wardens are to be employed, starting in the new financial year which begins in April, and that the process of appointing the wardens was under way.
The move was supported by Councillor Brian Topping, who asked what new powers the wardens will have. Ms Cardno said the Council was looking at powers over car parking, amongst other issues.
