Crimond hit for six at home

IN the North East Scotland Welfare Football League, the only game of the day was between Crimond and Rosehearty.

The away team started the better and were 2-0 up inside the first five minutes, one from a corner and the second from a free-kick.

Rosehearty scored a third on 40 minutes then a fourth with a penalty on the stroke of half time. They went on to score two more in the second half and Crimond got a consolation goal scored by Robert Stephen.

Daniel Simpson, Graham Smith, Sean McDonald and Jonathan yeats all wasted good chances for Crimond but Rosehearty ran out comfortable winners by 6-1 with braces from Ryan Whyte and Sandy Maitland and one each from Barry Shepard and Scott Sim.

Fixtures for Friday, March 26:

Ship Inn League Cup final - Clinton Thistle v Bellslea FC ( to be played at Bellslea Park, Fraserburgh, with a 7.30pm kick-off).

Saturday, March 27:

League - St Combs v Invercairn United; Rosehearty Thistle v Mormond Thistle (1.30pm kick-off).
