This entertaining encounter saw Link Up notch a victory to retain top spot in the A League but, in the first half, they were more than matched by an impressive Colony side who belied their position at second bottom of the table.
Link Up had an early chance with a free kick right of centre 25 yards out which Roger drilled in low and hard but the keeper clutched it safely.
A free at the other end was then smacked off the bar and the subsequent corner scrambled clear.
Colony took the lead with a high dipping shot from well outside the box after their striker spotted Stott off his line.
Link Up levelled soon afterwards when Masson won a challenge in midfield and played a quick pass to McCrory who laid it back for B Simpson to take one touch and hammer an angled 20-yard drive over the keeper.
The next effort on Link Up’s goal came via a snapshot from the edge of the box which brought a good save from Stott.
Masson then displayed good control and vision to set up B Simpson for a thumping volley which flew narrowly over the bar.
Bailey turned provider when he slipped a neat ball into McCrory who, in turn, showed great control and composure to roll a defender before slotting a precise finish into the bottom left corner.
A solid tackle from J Simpson at right back allowed him to find Watt and he squared for McCrory to fire just wide.
Jack followed this up, just before half-time, with a low driven shot which also slipped just off target.
Soon after the restart, Watt had a good run up the right flank which allowed him to pick out Fraser in front of goal. Blair cut back across his marker to make space for a fiery shot which smacked off the upright.
An already entertaining game was now wide open and stretched with play flowing from end to end.
Fraser made ground up the left with a driving run before playing it inside to Masson, who advanced on goal and fired wide.
Drew then linked well with B Simpson to create a chance at the edge of the box which Fraser lashed in only for the keeper to pull off a great save. The ball rebounded to B Simpson and his follow up was net-bound, with the Colony keeper off his line, only for one of the defenders to pull off a save which his keeper would have been delighted with. The defender was red-carded for his efforts and Link Up awarded a penalty which Masson dispatched coolly, giving the goalie no chance.
Mair won a tackle in defence and beat two opponents with slick footwork to make space pick out McCrory on the right wing. Kane sent over a hanging cross which B Simpson climbed well to meet only for the keeper to punch clear.
Colony pulled it back to 3-2 when a fantastic bending free kick from 20 yards beat the wall and found the postage stamp corner.
Almost immediately, Link Up made it 4-2. Dyka found Fraser wide left and he was brought down inside the area for another penalty. Again Masson finished clinically, driving it high to the keeper’s left, to round off a solid display from the home side.
