Fraserburgh FC manager Mark Cowie has said that Turriff United are “Boring” following his side’s 1-0 defeat at The Haughs last night.
Cowie did admit, however, that the tactics “Win games” and that it’s helped Turriff get to where they are.
A stunning free kick from Lewis Davidson gave the home side a 1-0 victory as Willie West missed a first half penalty.
Speaking after the game, Cowie said: “I think Turriff stole it.
“The wind played a part in the game, in the first half we had it on our backs and dominated then won a penalty.
“It was a poor penalty, Main has saved it but it was an easy save to make.
“We just didn’t get the breaks and in the second half I didn’t feel like they troubled us, I cant fault my guys.
“Anyone watching the game would have seen one team trying to play football and the other, to be honest, I think they are boring.
“But it wins games, Its got them up to fourth in the league so it must be working for them, it’s just not the kind of way I would want to play.
“They slow everything down and take their time and try and get the odd break and don’t concede.
“We couldn’t break them down though so they probably got their tactics spot on.”
Cowie went on to say he was confident his side could challenge at the top end of the table next season.
He said: “Cove won the league but they didn’t manage to beat us this season so that shows what we can do.
“Formartine got one win against us, our home game against Brora could have gone either way and we’ve already beat Turriff a couple of times this season so I’m not worried.”
