Fraserburgh Storm continue to impress
Fraserburgh Storm’s youth competed in the Basketball Grampian Super Cup Final Day at Aberdeen leisure centre after finishing top of their respected leagues.
An early start saw Storm U10’s tip off against Arduthie. Storm made an Immediate impact scoring 16pts in the 1st quarter and there was no turning back with Fraserburgh Storm running out winners for the second season and still undefeated 55 - 25
Next up was the Storm U12 girls tipping off against Arduthie. Fraserburgh Storm were going into this game brimming with confidence after the announcement that 4 players amongst their team had just made the Scotland national squad. Fraserburgh Storm girls proved to be too strong for the Arduthie side and were crowned Grampian champions for the second season running and still undefeated 57 - 38
The highlight of the day saw Fraserburgh Storm U12 boys compete against Fraserburgh Storm U10/11 development squad. This was an unlikely scenario at the beginning of the season but with both squads finishing 1st and 2nd in their league meant we had a great encounter to look forward to.
The game proved to be full of excitement with both teams giving everything they had, but a determined development just wasn’t giving up and proved to be worthy champions winning right at the death with a 51 - 48 victory.
Leo Harper chairperson and head coach of Fraserburgh Storm Basketball would like to thank coaches Ricardo Benevides and Jimmy Milne, all the parents for their fantastic support and finally all the kids for their amazing efforts!
