Fraserburgh Rugby Club has revealed that they will play competitive games in the future. The newly formed club have been training at James Ramsay Park for several months while plans have been in motion to find the club a playing ground.
Announcing the news on their Facebook page, Fraserburgh Rugby Club released the following statement: “Following discussion at the Scottish Rugby Union North Conference at the weekend, it was decided that there were sufficient teams to have a 10-team Caley 3 (North) and a Caley 4 (North) next season.
“The Committee considered that a 4th division, with a fairly lenient view taken on fulfilment of fixtures (ie. number of players, borrowing players, inability to play every week, etc.) would satisfy most needs. Importantly, any 100% committed team will, if good enough, obtain promotion to Caley 3 (North).
“Our application for membership of the Scottish Rugby Union has been very kindly supported by Aberdeen Grammar and Aberdeenshire Rugby Football Clubs. A big thanks must go out to these clubs for their help,” they add.
The proposed makeup of the new division will see Mackie Academy FP 2, Ellon 2, North Police Scotland, Strathspey, Aberdeen Wanderers 2, Garioch 2, Highland 2, and Huntly play competitive games against Fraserburgh.
