Broch Amateur Swimming Club travelled to Edinburgh to take part in the Scottish National Short Course Open Swimming Championship, often dubbed the ‘Splash and Dash’.
The Splash and Dash is considered to be the premier short course meet in the UK, attracting teams from Scotland, England and Wales.
It took place from December 11 to 13th.
The competition - held in a 25m pool - covers backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly at 50m. 100m and 200m.
Freestyle is also included at 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m.
Short Course also includes the 100m Medley, and Broch were able to spot some familiar faces from this year’s Commonwealth Games at the Royal Commonwealth Pool in the capital.
The Broch’s head coach, Sarah Burkinshaw, said: “We had a great time at the Scottish short course championships.
“Team Broch has continued to display the work done in training, resulting in either holding the times they set at the Grand Prix or knocking off a few more seconds.
“We are definitely developing some great race plans for the Scottish National Age Group Championships next year and we have enjoyed looking after Findlay, Orla and Lauren from Alford Otters who joined us for the weekend. We look forward to doing it again, and thanks to team manager Nicola for all her help and support.
“We enjoyed the event and produced some great results. Well done to Gregor Barnett, Iain Lovie, Amber Moir, Luke Pearson, Leia Summers and Emma Thoirs.”
