This week’s match of the week in the Fraserburgh and district mens darts league was the first league match of the season between the Crown and new boys Masons Arms with both teams hoping for a winning start to the league.
The Crown got off to a great start with Ronnie Eddie coming up with a 2-1 triumph against A. Ritchie with doubles proving the difference. Danny Trueman made it 2-0 to the Crown again another 2-1 victory over Steven Duncan. Derek McQueen proved too strong for Ryan Whyte winning 2-0 to make it 3-0 to the Crown.
Losing the next game, Crown stepped it up a gear winning the following three games with wins for Lee Cooper, Ian Adamson making his debut hitting a 180 in the process and veteran Charlie Duncan over Raymond Sim, Gordon Whyte Snr and Gordon Whyte Jnr respectively, giving the Crown a commanding 6-1 lead and ensuring at least a point for the home side.
Into the doubles and Crown were ensured of the victory with Ronnie Eddie and Danny Trueman digging deep to win 2-1 and take Crown over the line. Crown boys then went for the jugular winning the next 2 doubles with the Masons taking the final doubles to restore some pride and make the final score 9-3 to the home side.
