Fraserburgh Football Club are to host an international boxing match and dinner.
The event is taking place on Saturday, May 18 at the Fraserburgh Leisure Centre, and will be the eighth boxing dinner held by the club. Complimentary welcome drinks will be served from 6.45pm.
The Scottish Boxing Federation have organised the International match, which will see top Commonwealth hopefuls from Scotland and Norway - ten from each country - compete in ‘The Return of the Vikings’.
Norman Watt of the Scottish Boxing Federation commented that this is a crucial time for top boxers to show their best leading up to the Commonwealth Games in 2014.
Boxing dinners are an annual event for FFC, raising money to support the ongoing commitment to their youth policy supported by the SFA. Money is also raised to cover daily costs and help secure the future of Fraserburgh Football Club. The club are making a final push to fill places for tables as space is limited.
Commenting, Ian Findlay said: “This is the first international for the club and probably for the town of Fraserburgh as well.
“This will truly be an exciting evening where the best from both countries will fight it out.
“As in previous years tables have been selling well, but numbers have to exceed all other years just for the sheer cost of putting on such a great showpiece.
“It’s important we hold these evenings not only to give our supporters and guests a great night but to ensure the survival of the club and our commitment of our youth policy at the club.”
To book a table, contact Ian Findlay on 0776 422 83 23. Tables of 10 are priced at £400.00, but if you are unable to fill a table the club will make up a table for you.
Tickets can also be bought individually at £40.
