The past week has seen variable weather conditions with lower than average temperatures and a cold wind persisting for most of the period.

This seems to have driven the fish deeper although the responses to nymphs and buzzers suggest the fish are rising in the water column.

There has also been a noticeable difference in the feeding pattern with fish attacking the lures more aggressively and responding better to a quicker retrieve.

The best recorded catches this week fell to:

A Murray,

23 fish, (black nomad).

N Thomson,

22 fish, (buzzers).

J Mackay,

19 fish, (WSW, orange blob).

S Rankin,

19 fish, (buzzers).

M Stewart,

16 fish, (hare’s ear, cormorant).

P Barron,

6 fish, (montana, nymphs).

M Smith,

6 fish, (WSW).

The forecast for the coming week suggests that temperatures will remain low with intermittent rain showers and a westerly breeze.
