Are you interested in local history, family history or simply want to look at original historical documents?
On Tuesday, September 13, Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Archives will be displaying some original local history documents at Peterhead Library for anyone who would like to go along.
The archivists will be available between 10.30am and 3.30pm.
Fiona Musk, archivist, said: “The items are kept in secure storage in Aberdeen and can normally be viewed in our searchroom.
“But by arranging with places such as Peterhead Library we are able to take a small selection of items out and about for people to use.”
Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Archives has an extremely wide range of materials relating to the whole of the north east, including school admission registers, records relating to the poor, minutes from burgh and town councils, as well as lists of names of people entering into the Militia during the Napoleonic Wars.
