The Fraserburgh and District Horticultural Society, now in its 57th year, has dated its annual flower show at the Dalrymple Hall and Arts Centre.
This year’s flower show will take place on Saturday, September 8, with the doors opening at 1pm.
An official opening of the event, affiliated with the Royal Horticultural Society, the National Dahlia Society and the Scottish Group National Chrysanthemum Society, will commence at 2:15pm with guests Sir Lewis and Lady Heather Ritchie.
Entries on the appropriate forms should be made to the Secretary of the Fraserburgh and District Horticultural Society up to Friday, September 7.
The Society is on the look for two special entries this year, with the show accepting entries for an Olympic Glory themed watercolour (not exceeding size A4), and a Jubilee photograph (not exceeding A5).
A special prize will be awarded to the former, with the latter receiving the Fraserburgh 400 Trophy and, to keep, a framed Jubilee coin and stamp.
For further information, contact Secretary and Treasurer Audrey Duthie on telephone number (01346) 513606.
The society would also like to congratulate the pupils at Fraserburgh Academy for their efforts on the hanging baskets in the town centre and Mr Charles West of C & A West Home and Garden Centre for his time in helping the pupils with the project.
