Tenants at very sheltered housing complexes across Aberdeenshire are getting in to the Olympic spirit by holding their very own Olympic tournament.
Teams of five people from five different complexes will compete against each other at Dawson Court Sheltered Housing complex in Turriff on July 19.
There will be 6 events held during the day - skittles, target throwing, dominoes, pick a pair, net a duck out of paddling pool and a timed relay.
Councillor Karen Clark, Chair of Aberdeenshire Council’s Social Work and Housing Committee said: “It is great that the residents are getting in to the Olympic spirit and having their own event. I hope everyone has a fantastic day.
“The Council is keen to promote health, fitness and well being amongst older people. This is an excellent way of keeping older people active both physically and mentally as well as providing a fun day for people in Very Sheltered Complexes across Aberdeenshire.”
It is scheduled to start at 10:30am and last until 3:30pm, with a medal/ prize ceremony at the end.
Taking part in the event, from Fraserburgh, will be Jarvis Court.
Dawson Court (Turriff), Doocot View (Banff), Abbey Court (Mintlaw) and Dalvenie Gardens (Banchory) will also compete in the event.
