Fraserburgh’s returning Mid Summer Ball will take place on June 22, it has been revealed.
The Mid Summer Ball, which has previously been the pre-eminent event on the FISSH calendar for supporting the charity, will this year help towards providing Fraserburgh with festive lighting over Christmas.
Taking place in the Fraserburgh Leisure Centre, attendees will be able to take part in an auction featuring goods from local businesses as well as partake in some dancing to the sounds of ‘Picture This’ who have been made available through the support of Fraserburgh Car Sales Ltd’s John Simpson.
Representatives from Fraserburgh Forward, Fraserburgh Development Trust and the Fraserburgh Rotary club, who have taken over the event from FISSH this year, say: “A review of council funding for community Christmas lights means other funding options must be found.
“The Christmas community lights are enjoyed by our entire community as well as visitors and they would be a huge miss were no funds available to provide for them.
“Any surplus funds raised during the evening over and above the monies required for the 2013 Community Christmas Lights will be donated to a chosen local worthy cause.
“It’s the perfect combination of putting something back into the community whilst having a great evening of fun and enjoyment.”
Tickets, which cost £30 per person, can be reserved individually or in groups of eight, 10 or 12 by contacting Carolyn or Emma-Jayne on 01346 516909.
