Preparations are almost complete for the Aberdeenshire leg of the Queen’s Baton Relay and entry wristbands are now available to members of the public for a special community celebration.
The evening event will be held at Peterhead’s Balmoor Stadium from 5:30pm onwards and will be the culmination of a day of celebration across the area.
Aberdeenshire Council’s Buchan area manager, Chris White, said: “We expect there to be a lot of interest in the event and I’m sure a lot of local people will want to be there to mark what is an historic evening for both Peterhead and Aberdeenshire.
“While entry to the event is completely free, we will only be able to grant entry to people who have obtained a wristband in advance. These are now available from a wide variety of locations locally and will be strictly limited to 4 per person.
“Given the likely demand for the wrist bands, I would strongly urge you to pick up yours as early as possible to avoid any disappointment.”
For members of the public wrist bands will be available during normal opening hours from Arbuthnot House, Peterhead Community Centre, Peterhead Library and Peterhead Football Club. There is also an option to register by email to email@example.com.
