Aberdeenshire gourmets are to be treated to some tantalising tales by award-winning Scottish chef Roy Brett at an upcoming event organised by the Grampian Food Forum.

The Grampian Food Forum Dining Club is taking place at the newly refurbished Banchory Lodge Hotel at 6.30pm on Monday, September 8.

Held three times a year, the events aim to promote greater use of local produce on the menus of the area’s hotels and restaurants.

They also provide a forum for hoteliers, restaurateurs and chefs to meet with producers and suppliers to build relationships and explore opportunities to work more closely together.

Aberdeenshire Council’s food and drink industry support executive, Elizabeth Mathie, said: “I am delighted to announce that our guest speaker for the evening will be one of Scotland’s most popular and successful chefs, Roy Brett.

“Roy’s commitment to sustainable food is uncompromising and his work with small local suppliers ranging from fisherman to foragers is exactly what the Grampian Food Forum Dining Club aims to promote.”

Head chef at Banchory Lodge Hotel Scott Stephen and his team are planning a fresh, innovative menu for members attending the Dining Club to showcase the produce available in the area.

Scott commented: “We are committed to sourcing local, seasonal produce wherever possible and cannot wait to let Dining Club members sample some of our dishes as part of an informal dining experience.”

Members will also be able to take in the hotel’s beautiful interiors which have recently been refurbished.
