Renowned classical guitarist Ian Watt will be headlining the opening concert in a series of events coming to Fraserburgh this summer.

Ian Watt is taking part in Home From Home, a series of concerts by musicians and performers who all have a connection with the town.

He will be performing at Fraserburgh’s Dalrymple Hall and Arts Centre on Saturday, July 5, at 7:30pm. Tickets, priced £8 and £6 (concessions), are available at R&S Dyga in Broad Street.

Ian first came to international attention when, at 18, he was awarded second prize at the 2009 Parkening International Guitar Competition. Since then, he has appeared as a soloist throughout Europe and world.

Ian is also increasingly in demand as a teacher, regularly giving masterclasses internationally, most recently in China at the Central Conservatory in Beijing, Germany, Hungary and the Czech Republic.

The guitarist’s performance will be the first of four concerts being held in Fraserburgh this summer.

Other performances include award-winning accordionist John Bone together with jazz singer Mary May and her Quintet, and the Aberdeen Sinfonietta.
