Families, individuals, and businesses are all being encouraged to get on their bikes this weekend to take part in Buchan’s favourite family friendly bike ride, the Aden Bike Challenge.
The cycling event will take place on Sunday (March 10) and will take in some of the most beautiful sights in the local Buchan area.
It is a scenic ten-mile trail which will start from Petrhead Community Centre, along the Formartine and Buchan Way, ending in Aden Country Park in Mintlaw.
On arrival at the park each participant will receive a medal, goodie bag, certificate, and warm welcome.
There will be a celebratory atmosphere in Aden which will include a wide range of activities, facilities and entertainment including a bike road show, mother’s day country fair, rural life heritage fair, stalls, music, performance, rare breed animals, and access to Aberdeenshire Farming Museum, café and Aden craft & gift shop.
The bike event is suitable for everyone regardless of experience or fitness!
An optional shuttle bus and lorry transport service is also available from Aden Country Park at both the beginning and end of the event to ferry participants, their bikes and supporters from Aden to the start line in Peterhead. Registration will be open from 9.30am until 12pm at Peterhead.
Entry is £6 per adult and £3 per child/young person (17 years and under) with all proceeds going to Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland’s work in the lcoal area.
The event has been organised by a partnership of Aberdeenshire Council, Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland, Buchan Development Partnership, NHS Grampian, Aberdeenshire Community Planning Partnership and Getabout.
