PETERHEADS’ annual Scottish Week celebrations will get underway on Saturday, July 21, with the crowning of this year’s Buchan Queen, Kayleigh Ritchie and princesses Jayne Stephen and Samantha Cowe.
The official crowning duties have been bestowed on Banff and Buchan MP Eilidh Whiteford, who will do the honours in Drummer’s Corner at 2.30pm.
There will be a host of entertainment staged in Drummers Corner throughout the day including performances from Skip to the Beat, Peterhead Music & Rock School students, pupils of the Lawrence Dance Academy and The Ythan Fiddlers.
A buttery morning will be held in the OAP social club on Windmill Street at 10am, while the ABC craft fair will be held in Apex Church on Backgate throughout the day.
A special Trial of the Century will be held in Peterhead Sheriff Court on Queen Street at both 10.30am and 12.30pm.
The OAP social club will host a strawberry tea in the afternoon, while the evening will culminate in a DJ Hero competition upstairs at Mambo’s Nighclub on Queen Street.
A host of events will follow over the next six days, providing plenty of fun for all ages.
