Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) has announced that further to a great response earlier this year, The World Famous Harlem Globetrotters will be returning to the AECC Arena on Wednesday, March 27, 2013.
The Harlem Globetrotters will bring their 2013 “You Write The Rules” World Tour to the UK next year, returning with a new team and brand new show. Tipping off in March, the team will be displaying their skills to audiences across the country and packing in plenty of fun for all the family along the way.
Reknowned worldwide for their top class basketball tricks and one-of-a-kind family entertainment, the Harlem Globetrotters perform to thousands of people in hundreds of countries every year, continuing the team’s legacy which began in 1926.
Over the years, as well as breaking basketball records, the teams have broken social and cultural barriers – featuring on the cover of Life magazine in the 1940s, becoming the first basketball team to play in Europe and selling out a tour of the Soviet Union during the Cold War in 1959 to mention just a few.
Brian Horsburgh, AECC’s managing director, said, “This will be the third time the Harlem Globetrotters have performed at AECC.
“We always receive great feedback from the audience, both old and young, the performances are of such a high standard the audience are, at times, quite literally speechless! It’s a great family show!”
Tickets for The Harlem Globetrotters are on sale Friday, September 21, priced at £40, £25, £19 and £12.50, plus booking fee, and are available from Ticketmaster on 08444 77 9000 or www.ticketmaster.co.uk. Under 14s must be accompanied by an adult (18+).
Meanwhile, popular band The Script will be making a comeback to the Granite City next year.
The Script are set to return to the AECC Arena as part of their 2013 tour on Wednesday, March 13.
The Script, an Irish band fronted by Danny O’Donaghue, are famed for hits such as ‘Man Who Can’t Be Moved’ and ‘Break Even’ as well as their new single ‘Hall of Fame’ released on August 21 and features Will.i.am, who Danny works alongside on the TV show The Voice.
Mr Horsburgh, said: “The line-up at AECC for 2013 is growing all the time, and we have fantastic acts booked for the coming months.
“To have a band such as The Script returning to the AECC Arena reconfirms the importance of including the North-East of Scotland in a band’s touring programme.”

They are available from Ticketmaster on 08444 77 9000 or online at www.ticketmaster.co.uk.
