The Scottish Chamber Orchestra are returning to Fraserburgh United Reformed Church on Friday 10 July.
Directed by SCO Associate Artist Alexander Janiczek, the Orchestra will play a programme of Classical and Romantic music.
Danish composerNielsen’s 150th anniversary is marked with a performance of his Little Suite, while SCO Principal Bassoon Peter Whelan features as soloist in Swedish Romantic composer Franz Berwald’s work for Bassoon and Orchestra.
Peter Whelan is in high demand as a soloist and chamber musician across the globe, receiving recognition from audiences and critics alike, including a Gramophone Award for his recording of Vivaldi bassoon concertos with La Serenissima in 2010.
He is also a director and founding member of Ensemble Marsyas.
The concert continues with a performance of Mozart’s Violin Concerto No 1 with Alexander Janiczek himself as soloist.
The show will start at 8:00pm and tickets are priced at tickets £16 / £14 / £5 (U16s go free) and are available from Baird’s Pharmacy and Modans Post Office.
