North-east appearance for award winning comedian

The UK’s favourite British Iranian comedian and actor has announced that he will be taking his new tour to the North-east next year.

Omid Djalili will be taking his new show - Iranalamadingdong - to the Music Hall in the new year. Aberdeen audiences can watch the award winning performer in action on Saturday, January 24 with tickets available now.

His UK tour comes after a sell-out four week West-End residency and a sold-out season at the Edinburgh Festival.

Omid’s stand-up awards include the Time Out Award and EMMA Award for Best Stand Up and a South Bank Award nomination.

He won the Best Actor Award at the Turin Film Festival for his lead performance in The Infidel, which also secured a Loaded LAFTA award for Funniest film and also saw him short listed for Peter Sellers Award at the London Evening Standard British Film Awards.

His film appearances range from the Gladiator, The Mummy, Mean Machine, The World Is Not Enough, Alien Autopsy, Spy Game, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Grow Your Own, as well as Notting Hill, Mr Nice, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End and Sex and the City 2 and he providing his voice in Over the Hedge.

On stage, Omid has starred as Fagin in the West End production of Oliver! at the Theatre Royal in Drury Lane, taking over from Rowan Atkinson.

He has got behind the wheel and appeared as a celebrity driver on Top Gear, has guest-hosted the BBC’s Have I Got News for You, and starred in his own BBC1 The Omid Djalili Show.

Last year he took part in the television show Splash, and he has also hosted The Great Sport Relief Bake Off.
