The Friends of Aden are working in partnership with the Aberdeen Astronomical Society (ASS) to provide a unique Stargazing Evening event at Aden Country Park, Mintlaw, on Thursday, April 28, at 7.30pm.

The Stargazing Evening is the first of its type for Aden and this inaugural event is an opportunity for the partnership to gauge public interest and for people to get a better understanding of the night sky.

A member of the Aberdeen Astronomical Society will give a talk and provide advice on looking up into the stars, what they can see, as well as helping individuals to set up and get the best use out of astronomy equipment.

The evening is a family friendly event where all ages are welcome, however under 12s are to be accompanied by an adult. There is also a suggested £2 donation for the event.

The event will start from the Aden Theatre where tea and coffee will be available. After the informal talk people will be encouraged to head into the park and courtyard area to do some star spotting so people are encouraged to wrap up warm.
